2012 Island Beach Two Mile Swim

Saturday, August 4th - Sponsored by the Town of Greenwich, CT and the Greenwich Swim Committee.

AWARDS: Awards to top 3 in each five year age group and to top 3 overall. Participants limited to one award. Awards and refreshments following the event on Island Beach. Swimmers wearing wet suits will be INELIGIBLE for awards.

FEES:  $60 for entries before by July 20th, $70 thereafter. NO REFUNDS. In the unlikely event of cancellation, some credit will be given for future Greenwich Swim Committee events.

GENERAL INFO: Swimmers should report to Greenwich harbor at 6:45 am for registration and boarding of Island Beach Ferry. Boat leaves promptly at 7:30 am, swim begins at 8:30. Spectators may accompany swimmers. Race will be out and back from Island Beach. . Event is sanctioned by U.S. Masters Swimming and governed by its rules. All participants MUST be USMS members. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. The course will be marked with buoys and protected by official boats. INDIVIDUAL ESCORT BOATS ARE PROHIBITED. Swim caps will be provided and must be worn. Swimmers must finish half the course within 45 min and stay within 10 yds of buoy line. Wetsuits are permitted. Water temperature near 70.  Directions to Greenwich Harbor: Take I95 to Exit 3, right at end of ramp if northbound, left if southbound. Parking lot on left with ferry dock across street.
